68 High Street is in the heart of Ingatestone village and has been home to a bakery for more than seventy years; however the building had remained empty and dormant for almost six months before Giselle bought it in 1990. Raised in a baking family, it was a big step to go it alone while simultaneously raising a young family. However in 1991, after a major refurbishment, Giselle re-opened Ravens of Ingatestone, with a continuously packed shop and a rising number of wholesale customers the business continued to grow and in 1995 the business expanded further with a second shop opening in Billericay High Street.  

Giselle’s art is specialist cake decorating and the shop has become famous for creating cakes beyond imagination. Ravens of Ingatestone produce fresh bread and confectionery every day; all baked on the premises. We will make every effort to use the best ingredients from local suppliers and are proud of the excellent quality you can expect in our produce.We were proud to receive the Essex Baker of the Year award in 2008. Giselle was presented with the award at the Essex food and drink awards in September. Her daughter Jessica has been within the company for the last 16 years and has mastered some skills and knowledge along the way

In April 2017 Giselle hung up her apron strings. Jessica and her husband are now Co owners of Ravens bakery Essex Ltd. Following in her mum’s footsteps!

The Raven’s team take pride in there work, from our Bread, Rolls, Cakes, Sausage Rolls, specialty Celebration Cakes,Filled Sandwiches and Rolls. All freshly made daily Monday to Saturday.

We provide a delivery service for fresh Bread, Rolls and cakes within a 7 mile radius of our Ingatestone brunch.
