68 High Street is in the heart of Ingatestone village and has been home to a bakery for more than seventy years; however the building had remained empty and dormant for almost six months before Giselle bought it in 1990. Raised in a baking family, it was a big step to go it alone while simultaneously raising a young family. However in 1991, after a major refurbishment, Giselle re-opened Ravens of Ingatestone. With a continuously packed shop and a rising number of wholesale customers the business continued to grow and in 1995 the business expanded further with a second shop opening in Billericay High Street As well as being a successful business woman,
Giselle’s art is specialist cake decorating and the shop has become famous for creating cakes beyond imagination.
